Ended on February 14th, Deiscth & Wright Bodyboarding Challenge, valid for the 1st stage of the Circuit UBC in Deerfield Beach, Florida, USA.

Even without the glare of the world champion of 2008 Uri Valadão that had to go to Hawaii because of the postponement of the event last week, the first stage of UBC received their locals and Brazilians athletes living in the region which caused the event to have close races providing the brightness necessary to leave the public on the beach watching heat by heat in waves that were only 2 to 3 feet.
Enjoying the atmosphere of Valentine’s Day in the country, UBC distributed some gifts from their sponsors Cobra D’agua, Shaka Laka, www.invertstyle.com.br to the wives and girlfriends of the riders in this event as well as the general public.

The amateur category always fought here have names like Andre Moura who was the U.S. amateur champion in 2007 and took the title in the championship leaving the vice in the hand of his friend Victor Sales who made his second final in the event.

In the Drop Knee category, the local of Deerfield Beach Kenny Lawrence took the best and showed that his opponents have to surf a lot to beat him.

In the master we could see that the athletes of the old school still show a lot of technique and so Seikiti Shinmom took home another title in the baggage of many years as a bodyboarder.

The most prominent category of the event was provided by the professional group that had the format H x H from the semifinals on.  The final heat was heavily disputed due to lack of waves, and even so the athletes showed that resilience is a priority in the life of a competititor, and Seikiti Shinmon showed it by winning as the vice champion, and Victor Sales by only 0.5 points was crowned champion of theUBC CHALLENGE.
